About RBC

RBC Sport is a manufacturer of high quality, custom made boots and accessories, specialising in Short Track, Long Track and Inline skating boots. Since commencing operations in 1998, it has achieved remarkable success. RBC manufactures skates for a range of skaters from club skaters purchasing their first pair of custom boots to international skaters on the World Cup circuit.

When Steven Bradbury won gold in the 1000m Short Track speed skating final at Salt Lake City in February 2002, he was wearing the RBC AR1, as was Apolo Anton Ohno - considered the world's finest speed skater - when he won the gold in the 500m. RBC Sport proudly sponsors skaters in Short Track, Inline and more recently Long Track.

Each pair of boots is meticulously made by hand, whilst keeping abreast of technological changes but also incorporating their own unique and innovative ideas. RBC Sport was the brainchild of Clint Jensen, who alongside Steven Bradbury was regarded as one of Australia's top ice skaters throughout the 1990's..." Skating was Clint's passion and his obsession". While training with Steven for the 1998 Winter Olympics, Clint became extremely frustrated with the six to twelve months delay and set about making his own pair of boots.

With his background in orthotic manufacturing and a long career in Short Track Skating, Clint was able to improve the technology, the fit and performance with each pair of boots he made.

RBC's boots are immediately recognisable because of their unique designs and the distinct 3 ovals that appear on every pair of RBC boots. RBC's flexibility extends to allowing customers to choose from a number of designs, colors and materials to produce a personalised boot. RBC was the innovator of the "Torsion" and more recently the "Ankle Booster".

After RBC's expansion in 2002 Clint was looking for a person with skating experience and good hand eye coordination for the intricate tasks required when making custom boots. Clint's long time friend Simon Heading was the one to stick up his hand for the job. The two work side by side creating the latest designs and researching the latest technology to go into RBC equipment.

Simon skated for many years with Disney on ice touring the world. Simon was also one of the few figure skating coachs that would ask his skaters to use speed skating as part of their cross training for many years. With his understanding of the skating world and after working on his own figure skates Simon has become an integral part of RBC.
